We were delighted to be invited by The Enterprise Team, based at the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre as part of The Duke of York Young Entrepreneur Centre, to sit on their 2019 judging panel earlier this month.

Taking her place as a panellist alongside staff from the University of Huddersfield, Wild PR Managing Director, Katrina Cliffe sat on the panel to observe and assess the Enterprise Students’ end of year placement pitches. During the pitches, students reflected on their journey with the scheme and what the future holds for their business ideas post-graduation.

Katrina said of being a panellist: “It’s great that The Enterprise Team approached Wild PR to be part of such a great day, and we were more than happy to help support the scheme.

“It’s been 5 years since I decided to take the leap and set up my own business, and I know what a scary time it can be. Entrepreneurship involves a lot of ups and downs and it was particularly interesting to gain insight into the students’ entrepreneurial journeys, their highs and lows and more importantly what their future might entail.
“I’m feeling very inspired after learning of the potential that could be in store for Huddersfield.”

The Enterprise Team’s support is available to current students of the University of Huddersfield, or those who have graduated within the last five years. The Enterprise Placement year provides current students with the opportunity to spend a year exploring, researching and starting in business or self-employment as an alternative to placement in industry.
