Being supported by a mentor is something we encourage within Wild PR, especially for our junior team, to enhance our internal skillset and benefit our clients’ content.
To celebrate National Mentoring Month 2023, we have created a list of our favourite mentoring programmes for marketing and PR industry professionals:
1. Women in Tech SEO
Women in Tech SEO launched its mentoring programme two years ago and have since matched 300 pairings of mentors and mentees. The two-month-long programme is excellent for marketing professionals who want to develop their soft skills in Career Development, Leadership and Strategy!
The mentoring programme focuses on supporting and uplifting women in SEO and offers their services free of charge, including weekly check-ins from a dedicated programme trainer. You can find out more about how to apply for the 2023 cohort here.
2. MET Mentoring
MET Marketing Recruitment offers a free mentoring programme, launched in October 2020, dedicated to helping the progression of the marketing community in the North of England.
With access to a large contact base of talented marketing professionals, MET Mentoring is powered by volunteers who want to inspire and tutor others in the industry to support their businesses.

3. CIM mentoring
The Chartered Institute of Marketing offers a flexible mentoring programme, matching aspiring and developing professionals to the experience and knowledge of a mentor that suits them best.
With online mentoring available, mentees can be supported by anyone in the world, increasing their chances of being matched with an ideal candidate. Support is also available for all levels of professionals, from junior to director level.

4. School of Marketing
The School of Marketing offers an entirely free mentoring programme to help build up a professional’s skillset across the UK.
The mentoring sessions are held online every week, for the online mentee community, as opposed to 1-2-1 sessions. You can view upcoming support sessions, and register to attend, here.
The programme works with large companies, such as Google, Nando’s, NatWest, Sky and Financial Times, to provide excellent support and teaching opportunities.
5. Content Marketing World
Content Marketing World offers a free mentoring programme to content marketers to offer career guidance and advice on developing within the industry.
The programme consists of three 1-2-1 meetings, as well as group meetings in the summer to encourage networking amongst mentees to grow their network.
