With the cost of living continuing to hit Brits hard, many families and friends will be looking for low-cost holidays and activities in the UK over travelling abroad or forking out for high-priced amusements this Summer.

According to recent search data, picnics are a popular choice of activity, with 6.6K monthly searches for ‘picnic areas near me’¹ in May, as they are an affordable choice for those looking for low-cost activities on their UK staycation this summer.

With this in mind and in line with UK National Picnic Week (17-25th of June 2023), online booking platform UKcaravans4hire.com delves into the most affordable staycation locations to enjoy a picnic.

 

The top ten most affordable locations for a staycation this national picnic week are²:

Conwy came out on top, ranking as the most affordable UK picnic location for this June. The Wales town contains a multitude of beautiful parks and nature reserves to enjoy a picnic, including the Aber Falls, which has a five-star ranking on Trustpilot.³ With an average June temperature of 21 degrees and possible 25-degree highs, the weather conditions are perfect for enjoying a relaxing picnic.⁴

New Romney in Kent was revealed as the second most affordable, containing the beautiful historical wildlife site Romney Marsh, which scores high on Trustpilot, with 4.5 stars.⁵ The area also has pleasant conditions in June, with a maximum average temperature of 18 degrees.⁶
