Known as the hardest off-road enduro in the world.

Rod Heald, co-owner and chief inventor at Heald Ltd, a designer and manufacturer of hostile vehicle mitigation solutions is to take on the Red Bull Romaniacs challenge at the end of this month in aid of the MS Society.

Taking place from 30th July – to 3rd August, the Red Bull Romaniacs is a four-day motorcycle race and is known as the hardest off-road enduro in the world. Attracting riders from more than 40 countries, it is located in the Romanian Carpathian mountains meaning the challenge does not come easy due to technically demanding hilly landscapes.
It is stated explicitly, that the selective characteristics of the route and the attainable maximum time for each section and each day are conditioned by the weather, perseverance and driving ability and can lead to a considerable failure ratio.

Giving his reasons for supporting the MS Society, Rod Heald said: “Following my brother’s MS diagnosis six years ago, I have seen first-hand the amazing work that the MS Society do to support those affected with this debilitating condition. I hope to help the organisation raise the funds needed to minimise the impact of this condition.”
A fan of extreme and enduring sports, last year Rod and Debbie Heald MBE completed a gruelling 237-mile bike ride from Kent to Paris in aid of Cancer Research and Stem4.
