The brief:

With coronavirus restrictions easing and new laws being imposed in 2021, there were several changes that renters, homeowners, and landlords needed to know, including the law that all existing rented properties in England will need an electrical safety inspection every five years. Landlords that failed to comply or have necessary repairs undertaken could face fines of up to £30,000.

In order to promote the importance of the inspection, known as an EICR or electrical installation condition report, Wild PR was tasked with using expert insight and advice from Bramleys to target key industry, local and regional publications.

We worked closely with the Lettings department and drafted a press release and supporting blog that we could share across the client’s social media channels.

The results:

Overall, the campaign secured 35 pieces of coverage in a mix of publications such as The Examiner, Leeds Live, Houseladder, Landlord Today and Property Ladder. The coverage gained a total PR reach of over 4.8 million, with 29 pieces ranked as Tier A coverage. The campaign achieved coverage in many regions, including Wales, Essex, Hull, Lincolnshire and Gloucestershire, building a broader audience than the Yorkshire region and drawing attention from those around the country.

As well as online coverage, the team secured printed coverage in local and regional publications, including The Examiner, Wales Online and The Gazette, helping spread awareness of Bramleys to local property-interested audiences as well as those interested in opportunities further afield.
