We are delighted to announce that Wild PR has been shortlisted in the Community and Economy categories of The West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce’s Raising the Bar Awards for our efforts in bringing Huddersfield Business Week to the local community.
Raising the Bar is an initiative from the West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, which helps companies with their social impact goals. The Raising the Bar Awards are held annually and enable businesses and employees to be recognised for the hard work they put in to improve the local region.
Wild PR established Huddersfield Business Week in 2019 to promote the diverse range of businesses across Huddersfield at not only a local but regional level. The long term aim of the week is to help improve the economic outlook for the town and increase long term career opportunities and business start-ups/relocations.
An annual open platform event, Huddersfield Business Week, which takes place in the first week of October, allows for any Huddersfield based company or individual to take part to help raise their profile and support other organisations in the town by delivering training, workshops, networking or other events related to their business.
Over 40 events were submitted by 33 organisations, surpassing the aim to host 20 events in its first year. Early feedback from a third of event hosts shows that 56% of the businesses involved in hosting events have reported new business or leads as a result of getting involved in the week.
The awards ceremony will be held at the stunning Leeds Civic Hall on 6th November where the winners of the 2019 awards will be announced. Andrew Edwards, Presenter for BBC Radio Leeds, will host the event.
The shortlisting comes at an exciting time for the team, following a recent Workplace Wellbeing award from the British Chamber for the Yorkshire and Humber region. Winning the regional heat will see us go up against other regional winners at the national Chamber Awards. Client Services Director Laura Batchelor has also been shortlisted in the Ambassador of the Year category at The Examiner Business Awards, both to be announced at the ceremonies in November.
