We have been working with Sheards Wealth Management since September 2014 as outsourced Marketing Managers, responsible for their whole remit of marketing requirements including PR, Social Media and Digital Marketing.

The Problem

In light of changes made by Google to their algorithms, Sheards Wealth Management needed a website that was mobile responsive across multiple mobile devices. This was imperative considering that since Wild PR took over the digital marketing and social media requirements users accessing the Sheards Wealth Management website using a mobile device (mobile and tablet) has tripled*.

The previous website had been built using bespoke CMS software which had a number of limitations, the first being mobile responsiveness and the latter being the inability to edit the layout and upload content with ease.

Our Approach

Working closely with the team at Sheards Wealth Management, we initially investigated providing Sheards Wealth Management with an “off the shelf” website with content related to its industry automatically updated by the provider. Again, there were a number of limitations to this set up with one of the main issues being restrictions around layout and placement of content.

Instead, with our in-house expertise, we identified that by developing a WordPress website and integrating with third-party API’s we could deliver the solution Sheards Wealth Management was looking for. This solution would also ensure the business would have a website available to use should they for whatever reason cease to use the API or look to use an alternative supplier.

The Solution

We provided Sheards Wealth Management with a website that is on-brand and more importantly refreshed in order to provide an enjoyable user experience.

Utilising the Unico WordPress template we implemented a slider facility to the top of the website to allow Sheards Wealth Management to showcase key areas of their business.

The template structure also provides a “sticky menu” which means the menu is always visible no matter how far down the user scrolls for ease of navigation whilst ensuring contact details and social account icons are the pride of place to enable users to easily contact the organisation. With the introduction of this website, users can also call Sheards Wealth Management direct from their screens – key when a user is accessing from a mobile device!

We also worked closely with a third-party provider of websites for the IFA industry to utilise their API’s in order to ensure content is updated in line with industry regulations to ensure FCA compliance at all times whilst also providing visitors to the website with an array of financial calculators.

Contact forms are also integrated with the organisations’ CRM system in order to ensure data capture to support the continued growth of the business.

The look and feel of the website are now more aligned with the personality of the business. It is modern and fresh and integrates smoothly with third-party applications such as social media, RSS feeds and API’s.

The Stats

It’s still early days – we only launched the site on the 20th June but we will update this section as soon as we have the information.

It’s been a pleasure working on this project and we are delighted to deliver Sheards Wealth Management with a website that is fit for purpose and will help to grow their business further.
