Wild PR is proud to share that we will be supporting several worthy causes this Christmas in place of client gifts.

Rather than collectively donate to one organisation, each team member has been gifted £100 to donate to a charity or community organisation of their choice.

Who we are supporting this Christmas

Senior PR Manager, Mollie, has chosen West Yorkshire-based charity Overgate Hospice as her choice, following personal experience with the organisation. Based in Elland, a market town in Calderdale, Overgate Hospice provides expert care, support and advice for patients with a terminal illness or life-limiting condition – and their families, carers and loved ones.

Our Senior Account Executive, Lydia, has chosen The Alzheimer’s Society due to close family experience with the disease. The organisation operates nationwide and carries out crucial work in improving the lives of those with dementia and their carers. The charity provides support services through a helpline and online resources. Additionally, they invest in vital research to find new cures and treatments for the disease whilst also raising awareness to challenge the stigma surrounding dementia.

Barnsley-based organisation LUNG Theatre Company is our Social Media Manager, Hannah’s choice to support this Christmas. They are a verbatim theatre company who work closely with different communities across the UK to ensure their voices are heard. During the summer holidays, they organise a workshop called Young Carers Creative Makers. This provides young carers in Yorkshire a well-deserved respite from their caring responsibilities and allows them to simply be young people and have fun. Hannah’s donation would provide 15 young carers with two nutritious meals during their workshop.

Emily, our Marketing Communications Director, has chosen Children with Cancer UK as her charity to support this Christmas. The organisation is dedicated to fighting childhood cancer by investing in research to improve their understanding of the disease. Additionally, they also help children and their families affected by childhood cancer, ensuring they are supported when they need them most. The charity also aims to raise awareness and inspire people to contribute towards a better future for our children.

Operations Manager Kathryn has chosen to support Cancer Research UK during this festive period. The organisation is a world-leading independent cancer research charity, providing a wealth of support for those affected by the disease. They are able to fund world-class research to understand cancer, develop new treatments, and improve the lives of those affected by cancer.

Jamie, our PR and Marketing Executive has chosen The National Autistic Society to support this Christmas. Jamie has witnessed first-hand the challenges that individuals face living with autism following close family experience.  The National Autistic Society is the UK’s leading charity for the autistic community and their families. They are on hand to provide multiple support services, promote autism awareness and acceptance, and invest in research to better understand autism.

And finally, our Managing Director, Katrina, has chosen to support Bradford Ice Skating Club and Bradford Bulldogs Ice Hockey Club. Both of these sports have played a significant part in Katrina’s life for the past seven years. Ice skating and ice hockey are two sports that are both underrepresented and underfunded, making them expensive to participate in. Katrina’s donation will go towards supporting the clubs to minimise the financial impact on families whilst also allowing them to run skills clinics to build the skills of young athletes in Yorkshire.

Supporting the Sheffield Snowflakes Campaign

Last month, Wild PR supported the Sheffield Snowflakes Campaign, which aims to raise £2 million towards the National Centre for Child Health and Technology (NCCHT), a state-of-the-art research and technology centre.

The official Snowflakes switch-on event raised a brilliant £15,000, which will have a hugely positive impact on the children of Sheffield and beyond.
