We’re delighted to be working with Huddersfield Town Football Club on this year’s Kirklees Community Sports Awards. The awards, now in their second year, are aimed at recognising and rewarding those who are involved in sport within the Kirklees area.
The award ceremony, which will take place on Friday 11th November 2016 at the John Smiths Stadium will recognise sports teams in the local area, as well as celebrate the often unseen work done by volunteers and those around the clubs and societies.
Categories include:

  • The Kirklees Sports Legend

  • Young Sports Personality
  • Sports Team of the Year
  • Sports Official of the Year
  • Sports Club of the Year
  • Sports Teacher of the Year

The event is partnered in association with Myers Building Supplies, Lowdhams, Ubisoft, The Huddersfield Daily Examiner and Legacy Sport.
Sean Jarvis, Commercial Director at Huddersfield Town Football Club commented:
“We are delighted to launch this year’s awards following the success of the inaugural event in 2015. The awards are a real celebration of local sport and chance to thank those who make sporting successes of our local clubs and societies. Last year’s event was a huge success and we will be making it bigger and better this year. I would like to urge any of our local sports clubs to enter this year’s awards as there are so many people out there who deserve to be recognised for their efforts.”
The panel of judges will be announced in the coming weeks and is set to include some of the biggest names in their respective fields, all with a connection to the Kirklees area.
