Welcome to our ‘Meet the Team’ feature, where we give you a chance to meet the people behind the business! So now is the time to discover more about our Junior Account Manager, Kayleigh Morgan…

Name: Kayleigh Morgan
Kayleigh MorganJob title: Account Manager

What’s your origin story?

Not knowing what I wanted to do after leaving school with a range of GCSEs and a Level 2 Diploma in Hair & Beauty, I chose to leave Greenhead College as continued formal learning just wasn’t for me. Instead, I opted for an apprenticeship opportunity obtaining my Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Business and Administration, soon followed by the Level 3 qualification.

My appetite for ongoing learning and curiosity in social media led me to apply to the University of Huddersfield where I studied alongside working full-time. In 2019 I graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in Marketing. I will forever sing the praises of apprenticeships and the opportunities and experience you can get from them. After leaving Greenhead College I never thought for one minute that I would achieve a degree!

How long have you been at Wild PR?

I started my position the day before my birthday this year – which is 28th January just so you can pop that in your diary for next year.

What attracted you to this role?

I was never sure what life in a marketing agency would be like having spent the early part of my career in an in-house environment, but after seeing and having the opportunity to work on a varied client base, along with the ability to work with a team in a supportive environment I knew this was the position and company for me!

If you could change one thing about Wild PR, what would it be?

It would have to be the office location (four flights of stairs is a killer). Although lucky for me we’re soon moving to the Heritage in Lindley which has the most positive and welcoming environment! I’ve been on-site for a few meetings already and I’m very excited to try the onsite Deli – I’ve heard wonderful reviews from the rest of the team.

What important milestones do you have coming up in your life?

If you’d have asked me before the new year, I would have had two important milestones, but I believe I have got the job of my dreams most recently so there’s a tick! Purchasing my first house is another milestone that I wish to achieve in the near future. I recently signed up to a Help to Buy ISA and have started to add to the fund. It is important that I have my own home now I have found my life-long best friend as things are only to get more serious and stability is key!

If you were handed £1.5 million today, what would you do with it?

I would 100% purchase a house. Detached with 3 bedrooms and a dressing room/walk-in wardrobe for me. Not a £1.5 million house, but a nice sized one that needed work doing. I’ve always fancied doing the work I see on Homes under the Hammer! Having just started to work with Bramleys, a leading Huddersfield estate agency I can imagine having lots of house envy coming up!

The rest I would like to think I’d save but I think a new car would be on the cards – Corey the Corsa is definitely on his last legs.

What is the strangest talent you have?

Back in high school, I was the undefeated master of the dance mats in P.E. No exaggeration! Every lesson I beat the class on every song. This is thanks to my mum (or Santa) giving me one for Christmas when I was 7 – you could not get me off it. Sandstorm was my favourite song to dance to.

What do you love about your job?

I love the variety and creativity. Every day is different, and I can get creative whether it’s designing graphics for social media or putting together a blog/news article.

What TV show/movie/song closely represents your life at the moment?

“I gotta feeling by Black Eyed Peas. I have the feeling that 2020 is going to be the best year yet, my year to shine!

Do you currently have, or did you have, any nicknames?

I’ve never really chosen to have nicknames – I get Kay a lot for short in text messages from my friends however I really don’t like this (take note people). My best friend and I decided we liked Leigh better, so she calls me that. My mum isn’t a fan at all. My boyfriend calls me ‘klmx’ spelling out my Instagram tag haha.

What is your go-to drink when at a pub/bar?

From any normal bar I would order Blood Orange Gin and Lemonade however in a cocktail bar I am most likely to order a Long Island Ice Tea – they taste like Coca Cola Chupa Chups lollies!

What personal accomplishment are you secretly really proud of?

I am really proud of myself for getting into university, applying myself and graduating. With my ‘failure’ earlier in life at college, I never thought I’d end up enrolling, let alone graduating University – I thought I’d blown that chance.

What is your proudest moment at Wild PR (so far)?

Hitting the ground running with new client strategies and attending client events and meetings with confidence.

If you could have any company as a client, who would it be?

I would 100% choose Revolución de Cuba. The fun themed events are endless and the content would be so fun and vibrant!

If you could close your eyes and transport yourself anywhere, where would you go?

This sounds so sad and soppy but I would transport myself instantly, without a doubt, to Glasgow so I could see my boyfriend who is based up there as part of his job in the Marines.
