Name: Ella Kybaluk

Job title: PR and Social Media Executive

What’s your origin story?

Believe it or not, I originally wanted to be an actor in my younger days, I absolutely loved theatre and the arts and would perform in shows regularly! However, as I started to get older and throughout college, I decided acting was just a hobby and not the career path I wanted to pursue. I then decided to look into various degrees to go forward and study, and I was instantly drawn to a marketing degree, as this resonated with me the most, and I found the concept fascinating. I then realised I could study fashion marketing and thought, why not combine the two! This then brought me to studying a fashion marketing BA in Leeds, which I graduated from in 2021, and I loved it! My passion for marketing only seemed to grow throughout my degree, which lead me to begin developing my skills in the marketing industry!

How long have you been at Wild PR?

I have only been at Wild PR for about 3 weeks now, it’s very early days, but I can honestly say I LOVE it. I am so excited to get stuck into some fantastic projects in the future.

What attracted you to this role?

I was interested in Wild PR for a good few months before I applied for the advertised role. Amongst striking me as a fantastic agency in the first place, the work culture and team environment from what I saw on socials appealed to me, as I think this is a crucial element of working in a positive and motivating environment. As for the job, I felt it ticked a lot of boxes! Alongside the various roles and responsibilities which I generally felt would fit and challenge me really well, the position just felt so right for me, and I was delighted to receive the job offer!

If you could change one thing about Wild PR, what would it be?

I can’t think of anything, and I’m not just saying that to be nice! All the girls are so lovely and helpful, and it’s so motivating to see people in the team doing well in their job and achieving regular results!

What important milestones do you have coming up in your life?

Ermm, I don’t really have a milestone coming up! I’m just focusing on doing well on the job and achieving great results inside work, whilst working on my personal goals outside of work.

If you were handed £1.5 million today, what would you do with it?

Oh my goodness, wouldn’t that be the life, go on a very long holiday! If I’m honest, I can’t even imagine what I would do with that amount of money, I would give some to my loved ones and charity, and then I think I would invest the money in developing my own brand!

What is the strangest talent you have?

Hmmm, I don’t think I have a strange talent. I know, right, how boring. But I honestly can’t think of a strange one!

What do you love about your job?

I love keeping up with trends and what’s happening in the industry, so I love that I can incorporate that as a dominant part of my job. I feel marketing is a concept we all subconsciously buy into every day, even if we don’t want to. We are all consumers and we are all drawn to different brands for different reasons, but the concept all boils down to the same thing! It’s all down to various forms of clever marketing and customer perception, and I find that incredibly interesting.

What TV show/movie/song closely represents your life at the moment?

Oh, I don’t know, that’s a hard one! I often find myself romanticising my life as if it is a movie! I would say maybe a film that represents being young and finding your way, but having fun at the same time! If I had to think of a song, maybe something like Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself by Jess Glynne as I can be terrible for being hard on myself!

Do you currently have, or did you have, any nicknames?

Many people and my friends call me ‘Kybs’, just a shortened version of my last name really, original I know!

What is your go-to drink when at a pub/bar?

Oooo, it really depends on the vibe with me! If I was being a little boring or having a few of the same thing, my go-to spirit is always vodka. You can always catch me with a vodka fresh lime and soda, or a vodka diet coke. However, I do love a fruity flavoured gin and lemonade in the sun, an espresso martini, or a fruity cocktail! If we are talking shots, Tequila Rose has my heart. If you haven’t tried it, it’s the nicest shot ever and you heard it here first!

What personal accomplishment are you secretly really proud of?

I have recently started focusing on lifting weights at the gym and mending my toxic relationship with food and my body that I have developed over the years. It doesn’t sound like much, but I am proud of myself for sticking to the intense training and the shift in my mindset, I can’t wait to see where it takes me!

I am also really proud of my university achievements and graduating with first-class honours. This was a massively proud moment for me as I’m not the most academic of the bunch, but it shows that if you put your mind to achieving something you want, you are more than capable, and that will be something I take with me throughout my life.

What is your proudest moment at Wild PR (so far)?

It would have to be getting the job! I haven’t been here long, so it’s hard to pick out a moment I’m specifically proud of, but I’m sure there will be many proud moments.

If you could have any company as a client, who would it be?

If I was to choose a large scale company, the dream would be either a successful skincare brand, a gym wear brand like Gymshark, a cool fashion brand or a really quirky food or drink brand! If I was thinking of a smaller client I would love a cute local coffee shop or something!

If you could close your eyes and transport yourself anywhere, where would you go?

I don’t want to skip to the future, and I know that I should live in the moment and not wish things away, but I can be guilty of wanting to be ahead of time and skip to future achievements. For example, when I’m a manager somewhere or the day I eventually achieve my body goals, but I am also very aware I shouldn’t do that and life is about the process and embracing the moment, so I don’t recommend wishing things away! I would also transport myself on a long holiday, preferably an American road trip!
