Samantha (Sammy) joins Wild PR with a strong background in SEO, having previously worked both in-house and for a digital marketing agency. With a passion for creative writing and storytelling, Sammy completed a BA Hons degree in English Literature at the University of Winchester before starting her career in content writing. Sammy has a love for all things SEO and brings her expertise and knowledge to enhance Wild PR’s organic content strategies.

Tell us a little bit more about yourself… where have you come from, what are your interests and ambitions?

I write in both my free time and in my career, so this is something I’ll always be interested in. Having previously worked in a Sheffield agency as a Senior SEO Strategist, I’m excited to continue my career and learn even more about SEO and PR.

Outside of work, I’m a big animal lover and spend loads of time with my energetic little Border Collie, Penny. I love getting stuck into a good book or a crime and horror series on Netflix, and going to gigs and festivals whenever I can. My ambitions are really about continuing to grow in my career while making time for the things I enjoy most, like travelling and seeing shows and musicals!

What made you want to pursue a career in PR & marketing?

I fell in love with marketing during my first role in an agency, and I absolutely love seeing successful client results. During my first marketing role, I learnt so much about the basics of SEO and interpreting data. However, it wasn’t until I worked in an agency that I knew this was a career path I was passionate about. I love getting stuck into lots of different projects, and the variety that comes with supporting many different clients! Working for a PR agency and witnessing how PR and SEO are really symbiotic is so rewarding.

What is your experience/education to date?

I completed a BA Hons English Literature (and Education combined) degree at the University of Winchester, and this was an absolute dream for someone who loves reading and writing essays. Gothic literature is a huge passion of mine, and living so far away from home was challenging but exciting. I later worked in-house as an SEO Content Writer for a healthcare company in Barnsley for three years, and later worked for a digital marketing agency in Sheffield for five years before joining Wild PR.

What attracted you to the role at Wild PR?

Having specialised in SEO for several years, I was keen to join a team where I could continue to use my expertise while learning more about how different marketing channels work together to drive results. What stood out to me about Wild is how much the team values knowledge sharing and creative thinking. It feels like the kind of environment where people genuinely learn from each other. I was also really impressed by Wild’s client portfolio and previous work, which made the role feel really exciting.

What does your role entail?

I undertake SEO research and content creation in order to strengthen clients’ organic performance. Day to day, I’m involved in developing content plans, writing optimised copy, and collaborating with the PR team to maximise visibility and engagement across different channels.

How will your role support client success?

I’ll be using data and performance insights to inform content strategies that create meaningful results. By identifying opportunities to improve organic visibility and producing high-quality content, I’ll help clients build authority and reach the right audiences.

What have you enjoyed (or are you proudest of achieving) thus far?

Everyone at Wild is so willing to provide new ideas, listen to each other’s insights, and support each other. A client recently came into the office, and they were so appreciative of some work that every department has had a role in. Seeing the impact of this and the improvement of some vital keywords was really nice.

How will you be developing your knowledge in the industry?

I’m such an advocate for Search Engine Journal as I love how the content is so frequent and easy to digest on the go. Following experts in the industry on social media and always being willing to try new things is so important. I also quite enjoy Grumpy SEO Guy! As an SEO, I look forward to learning more about the ins and outs of successful PR campaigns and keeping up to date with trends and industry news.

What is an emerging trend that you’re excited to explore?

I enjoy exploring how incorporating user-generated content and adding an extra layer of trust, such as author profiles, can enhance a piece of content and drive stronger results. AI is such a major topic at the moment, and I see it as an opportunity to ensure our clients position themselves as leaders in their industries, rather than something we should be scared of. I also enjoy testing different ways to make content stand out in today’s crowded online space.
