Hornsea based perimeter security solutions manufacturer Heald Ltd has announced a new initiative to support organisations both in their local community and at a national level. The ‘Make a Month’ campaign will see Heald gift a financial contribution each month to causes nominated by employees of the business, enabling them to help make a difference to organisations that mean the most to them.

Historically, the owners of Heald Ltd, Debbie and Rod Heald have raised over £10, 000 for various charities with the team taking part in activities including cycling from London to Paris, team bake sales and also Rod taking part in the Red Bull Romaniacs Challenge, known as the hardest off-road enduro in the world. This year, they have put the power in the hands of the Heald team to nominate which worthy causes they wish for the company to support on a monthly basis.

So far, four organisations have benefitted from the campaign including Mind Mental Health Charity, which offer support and advice to anyone who is experiencing mental health problems, Hull Food Bank, which is run by volunteers who help deliver food packages to people in need, First District Leven Scout Group, a local scout group organisation in a nearby village to Heald as well as The Daisy Tumour Bank.

First Direct Leven Scout Group, one of the chosen charities said: “Thank you for your donation to 1st Leven scout group. This donation will allow us to sustain our unit making a difference for children in our village and the local area. We appreciate your kindness and support.”

Hull Foodbank added: “Hull Foodbank gives out around 5000 parcels of food each year to individuals and families experiencing a crisis.  We are so grateful for the kind donation from Heald Ltd that enables us to purchase a storage cupboard to increase our store of food in our local centre, making it easier for people that cannot access our city centre provision.”

Commenting on the chosen causes, Debbie Heald MBE added: “Our team have put forward many worthy charities, which makes the decision difficult. We are extremely happy to have supported four fantastic different causes and we will look forward to supporting more organisations during 2020.”
