Our client, Huddersfield Community Trust are on the lookout for budding dragons to support the Huddersfield branch of the National Citizen Service with the delivery of its summer programme.
The National Citizen Service is an opportunity for young people aged between 16 and 17 to build skills for future work and life. Each individual is part of a collective 200,000 teenagers across the country that are involved in the NCS programme.
The scheme aims to bring young people from different backgrounds together to develop greater confidence, self-awareness and responsibility whilst encouraging personal and social development by working on skills like leadership, teamwork and communication.
NCS, along with Huddersfield Community Trust are delivering their summer programme to 390 young people. As part of the programme, teams have to devise a social action project that they complete within 30 hours, which will impact their local community.
Each team will be partnered with a community organisation and receive a mission statement. Fundraising needs to be included within their project to enable the teams to buy all tools and equipment needed. Each team will then pitch their ideas to a panel of dragons in the hope of winning £50 to kick start their project.
Katy Stockdale, NCS Manager commented: ‘As part of this year’s NCS summer programme we are very much looking forward to welcoming local business professionals to make up our dragon’s panel. The value their insight offers to the programme is second to none and it has a significant impact on both the outcome of the task in hand, but plays a key part in developing young people’s business skills, presentation skills and ability to manage themselves professionally’.
The programme takes place on multiple dates throughout the summer and NCS are inviting business and community leaders to make up the panel.
THIS IS NOW FULL. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST.
